Usama Barwani is the CEO of Petrogas E&P. He was previously head of New Business Development in MB Holding, where he served 10 years across various positions. He is the Managing Director of United Engineering Services, and has been in this capacity since 2007. United Engineering is a leading Contract Manufacturing and Engineering company that serves the Oil & Gas, Marine, and Defence Industry, with operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia In addition to Petrogas, he is also a board member of Arcapita Bank, a Bahrain based Islamic Merchant Bank and Private Equity company, as well as Chairman of Oman based Ubar Hotels and Resorts, a publicly listed hotel operator.
He holds a B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering from Tulsa University (USA) and an M.Sc in Energy, Trade & Finance from City University’s Cass Business School, London.
Azhar Al Kindi started working for Petrogas E&P in July 2012 as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, and took over the role of a Chief Operating Officer a year later. He has worked in numerous Omani fields at various maturity stages, in the early stages of his career at PDO. He then moved to Shell Oil in Louisiana, US, to look after the (re)development of deep water in Gulf of Mexico fields. This was followed by an assignment in Texas, US, to work on the Alaskan heavy oil prospects. He then moved on to manage various Petroleum Engineering activities for Shell in Australia spanning from deep water offshore Western Australia to onshore unconventional development in Queensland.
He holds a Bsc in Physics from Durham University (UK) and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Kingsuk completed his Petroleum engineering (Bachelor of Technology) from Indian School of Mines, India in 1995. Since then he has worked in various oil & gas companies in the private and public sector in India and had hands on experience in Petroleum engineering, project management, business analysis, planning and economics and new business development.
Kingsuk joined Petrogas E&P in 2007 and was responsible for business analysis, planning and economics for Petrogas E&P and its subsidiaries. Over the years he developed strong knowledge of Corporate Finance and deep understanding of Petrogas’ assets and businesses and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2012. The position is responsible for overall supervision of business analysis, corporate planning, corporate governance, finance and accounts functions. Also, as a part of the top management team, Kingsuk is responsible for company`s strategy and policies, and ensuring its implementation.
In December 2013, Kingsuk completed his Global Executive MBA from INSEAD and won the Claude Janssen Prize for scoring the highest GPA globally, across all sections.
As from November 2014, Kingsuk was appointed as the Chief commercial officer and Vice President (Europe) to oversee Petrogas’ interest in the Netherlands and new business development, on top of his corporate and senior management responsibilities.
Steve Daines is the Chief Exploration Officer of Petrogas E&P. Joining in May 2017, he has previously held roles in exploration with increasing responsibility in Maersk Oil, Kerr-McGee, Conoco and Exlog in many international locations over the last four decades. He is based in Dubai.
He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Liverpool, and has participated in the London Business School of Economics Accelerated Development Programme, Thunderbird School of Global Management Leadership Programme, and Harvard Business School’s World Class Leadership Programme.
Yasser al Mughairi is currently working as GM - HR, Admin & IT for Petrogas E&P. He has EDSML (Executive Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership), a UK based qualification awarded by CMI (Chartered Management Institute) MBA level, and has achieved the prestigious professional Human Resources qualification (CIPD) from the Chartered Institute of Personal Development - UK. In addition to other academic credentials, Yasser has also been awarded the title of ‘Chartered Manager’ by the Chartered Management Institute – UK.
He started his career as a Junior HR Officer, where he worked for PDO for a decade from 1992 to 2002. During this time, he occupied several positions within core HR including a senior role as Acting Section Head (Recruitment), followed by eight and half years with OLNG in many managerial roles and left as the Head of Learning and Development.
In April 2011, he moved to MBPS in the role of Sr. Manager - HR & Admin and was responsible for over 3000 employees.
